In a remarkable feat of endurance, determination, and teamwork, Team Adventure X Arunachal Pradesh made history at the Rally of Himalayas 2025, held from October 9–12, by clinching the runner-up position. Represented by renowned rallyist Lhakpa Tsering, along with Naku Hage Chada and Jaongam Mirip Singpho, the team became the first-ever from Arunachal Pradesh to compete in this extreme high-altitude motorsport event.
Backed by JK Tyre, one of India’s leading promoters of motorsport, along with Vamcy Merla, businessman and motorsport enthusiast, and Tanor Engineering, the trio braved thin air, sub-zero temperatures, snow-covered trails, and perilous mountain roads to deliver an unforgettable performance. Their success was not just about skill—it was about perseverance, unity, and the fearless pursuit of passion.

Team leader Lhakpa Tsering, a veteran rallyist from Dirang, competed in a Toyota Hilux, while Naku Hage Chada from Ziro and Jaongam Mirip Singpho from Bordumsa drove their Maruti Gypsys. Their results were equally inspiring—Lhakpa Tsering claimed runner-up in the Above 1850cc category, Naku Hage Chada emerged winner in the Up to 1350cc category, and Jaongam Mirip Singpho provided invaluable support throughout the rally.
The Himalayan terrain, featuring treacherous passes like Hamta and Rohtang, tested every driver to the limit. Many stages were altered or canceled due to harsh weather, but Team Adventure X stood firm, showcasing resilience and flawless coordination.
The Toyota Hilux, equipped with JK Tyre Ranger HT (265/60R18) SUV tyres, played a pivotal role in the team’s performance. Designed for stability, grip, and precision handling, these tyres ensured reliability in the harshest environments, complementing Lhakpa’s expert driving to perfection.
Reflecting on the experience, Lhakpa Tsering shared, “The Rally of Himalayas tested us in every possible way—from biting cold to unpredictable mountain roads. Competing with Naku and Jaongam, supported by JK Tyre and our partners, we proved that with trust, preparation, and the right machines, even the toughest terrains can be conquered. This is a proud moment not just for us, but for all of Arunachal Pradesh.”
With JK Tyre’s continuous support and the encouragement of the Government of Arunachal Pradesh, the state’s motorsport culture is rapidly growing. This achievement is more than a podium—it’s a statement of grit, growth, and glory for the Northeast in Indian motorsport.
