The 11th Legal Era Gennext 2022 Business and Law Congress was organised to honour the individual journeys of some of the greats of the legal profession was organised at the Taj by Legal Era. The ceremony acknowledges the distinguished men and women who have topped their game while giving back to law profession, the society and economy from time to time. High profile celebrity lawyer Zameer Nathani was awarded the Distinguished Legal Minds of India plaque by Justice Mohit Shah, the former Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court. Speaking about the same Zameer says, “It was an honour for me to share the stage with Justice Shah and receive this coveted plaque. It is my utmost pleasure and it pushes me to continue to excel in the legal profession with full zest and give it back to the society.”
Zameer Nathani is the Senior Vice-President & General Counsel at UFO Moviez India Limited. He joined UFO Moviez, India’s pioneering Technology Company for digitisation of cinema theatres in India, in 2018. With Harvard and Stanford certifications, Zameer started his practice in 2002 and was a law firm attorney for reputed corporates like Eureka Forbes, LG Electronics, TCL India, Motul Oils, Ginger Hotels, Kale Consultants Software UK, Johnson & Johnson, Johnson Diversey and other multinationals from the US, UK and Asia Pacific. He joined the corporate world, becoming the Associate Vice President of Reliance Entertainment – Digital Businesses (Gaming, E-commerce and OTT) to head the legal affairs globally for all the digital businesses. Thereafter, he became Head-Legal for Balaji Telefilms, a renowned production house for TV serials, movies & OTT, reporting to Founder and MD Shobha Kapoor, where he fought cases pertaining to renowned movie Dirty Picture and issues in relation to infamous serial Jodha Akbar, followed by becoming Director – Legal for the iconic clothing brand Raymond to head the legal team for retail, manufacturing, FMCG, real estate, engineering, aviation etc. under the brand Raymond, Park Avenue etc. and represented Raymond during the infamous Singhania family dispute between Vijaypat Singhania and Gautam Singhania. Zameer is also Chairman of Media and Entertainment at Indian National Bar Association.
