Marriott International has announced a landmark partnership with CG Hospitality Global to develop three new luxury and premium hotels in South Asia, strengthening its presence in two of the region’s most promising hospitality markets—Nepal and India. Expected to open in 2031, the projects will add nearly 450 rooms to Marriott’s growing portfolio and introduce three prestigious brands: The Ritz-Carlton Kathmandu, The Westin Kathmandu, and JW Marriott Hotel Siliguri.
The agreement marks another significant milestone in the long-standing relationship between Marriott International and CG Hospitality Global, one of Nepal’s largest and most diversified multinational conglomerates. With business interests spanning hospitality, FMCG, financial services, infrastructure, real estate, education, telecommunications, and electric vehicles, CG Hospitality has played a key role in supporting Nepal’s tourism and economic development.
The signing ceremony was held in the presence of David Marriott, Chairman of the Board of Marriott International; Dr. Binod K. Chaudhary, Chairman of CG Corp Global and CG Hospitality; and Rahul Chaudhary, Managing Director and CEO of CG Corp Global and CG Hospitality Global. Senior leaders from Marriott International, including Rajeev Menon, President, Asia Pacific excluding China, and Kiran Andicot, Senior Vice President, South Asia, also attended the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajeev Menon said the partnership reflects a shared vision to bring world-class hospitality experiences to high-growth destinations. He noted that the new developments will showcase the excellence of Marriott’s luxury and premium brands while contributing to tourism growth, job creation, and regional economic progress. Menon also expressed confidence that, with CG Hospitality’s strong market expertise and commitment to the region, the hotels will emerge as landmark destinations for travelers.
Rahul Chaudhary described the collaboration as an exciting new chapter in CG Hospitality Global’s journey to elevate South Asia’s hospitality landscape. He said the projects underscore the trust, partnership, and shared ambition between the two organizations. According to him, the hotels will not only deliver exceptional guest experiences but also celebrate local culture, create employment opportunities, and contribute meaningfully to the communities they serve.
Once operational, these iconic properties are expected to redefine luxury hospitality in Kathmandu and Siliguri, further enhancing the region’s appeal as a premier travel and business destination.
