The 28th JK Tyre FMSCI National Racing Championship concluded in spectacular fashion at the Kari Motor Speedway on Sunday, wrapping up a weekend filled with adrenaline, emotion, and the crowning of new champions across multiple categories. The spotlight shone brightest on Dhruvh Goswami of MSport, who delivered a stunning performance to clinch the coveted LGB Formula 4 title. Entering the Round 3 finale trailing championship leader Diljith TS of Dark Don Racing, the 18-year-old Class 12 student from St Joseph’s, Bengaluru rose to the challenge with remarkable composure and speed.
Goswami won three of the four races over the weekend, including a memorable triumph in the 20-lap final race on Sunday. Starting seventh on a reverse grid—three spots behind Diljith—he showcased patience and strategic brilliance. After briefly losing the lead to teammate Ruhaan Alva, he reclaimed it with authority to seal the championship. Reflecting on the decisive race and his duel with Diljith, Goswami said, “It was going to be a long race, I knew I required to be patient.” Monith Kumaran Srinivasan of Ahura Racing took home the Rookie title in the LGB Formula 4 class.
Running alongside the championship was Round 4 of the FIA-certified Formula 4 Indian Championship, part of the Indian Racing Festival. South Africa’s Luviwe Sambudla secured his first win of the season with a commanding pole-to-flag finish in the opening race, while Kenya’s Shane Chandaria clinched victory in the second. Indian driver Ishaan Madesh impressed with a hard-fought third-place finish in Race 1, and teammate Ghazi Motlekar of Mozambique delivered consistent podiums across both outings.
In the Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup, presented by JK Tyre, Bengaluru’s Anish Shetty capped off his title-winning campaign in style, securing yet another victory despite having sealed the professional category a day earlier. Bryan Nicholas from Pondicherry emerged champion in the Amateur class.
The debut season of the JK Tyre Racing Championship Levitas Cup saw Balaji Raju claim the Rookie crown with back-to-back wins, while Coimbatore’s Jai Prashanth Venkat dominated the Gentlemen category. The fiercely contested JK Tyre Novice Cup ended with Pollachi’s Lokithlingeash Ravi of DTS Racing taking the title after a decisive win in the final shootout race.
